In 1934 two young businessmen, Luis Riera Carré and Jaime Juanola Farres, began their entrepreneurial adventure by manufacturing bicycle accessories. They fused their names together to create the RIEJU brand name (RIEra+JUanola).
SPANISH ENDURO HERITAGE
Spain has always produced some renowned Enduro Bikes – Bultaco, Ossa and GassGas wrote a large portion of the history books on the Sport, they claimed numerous victories in their storied past. Although these names have moved on, the Spanish Enduro heritage and know-how lives on with Rieju.
Rieju’s experience in world-class sporting competitions goes back three decades. The journey in 1978 with the manufacture of the TT 406 motorcycle as evolution of the previous model, with a 74cc engine. With Minarelli, Rieju began their successful adventure in the all terreno competition, participating in their first Spanish Enduro Championship in the 75cc category, and achieving a total of 12 national championships.
